Rhino Recovery, a vehicle breakdown and recovery company first discovered the Aldershot Enterprise Centre when they needed somewhere to store one of their vans. A month later they took on a small office and the following month their business had grown so much that they had to take on a larger one.
Through building a relationship with We Buy Any Car, also tenants at the Aldershot Enterprise Centre, Rhino Recovery started to take on more contracts and became well known in the immediate area.
A first-class service
Ben Wood, founding Managing Director explains that they offer a vehicle breakdown and recovery service across the Southeast and have served customers as far afield as Wales and Essex.
“I believe we offer a better service than the bigger recovery and breakdown organisations. About 15 million people in the UK use the larger breakdown companies but this only accounts for 1/8th of the population. A lot of people don’t realise that while they have breakdown cover, they don’t have recovery. In this case, they may find themselves on the side of the road waiting for someone else to tow them away after the mechanic has left. We will come and try and fix the customer’s car and tow it to a safer place or a garage if we can’t. Also, no one has to wait longer than an hour. And we will do this multiple times if necessary; we have no limit on the number of times we’ll come out to rescue a customer.”
Support from the Aldershot Enterprise Centre
Ben is full of praise for the staff at the Aldershot Enterprise Centre who helped them with extra car parking, great deals on office space and great contacts within the centre.
“They’re great here. Any queries or questions we’ve had they’ve helped us. Lorna has even helped us with sorting out our voicemail and with job applications for our receptionist“
An expanding business
Ben is now looking to diversify into the transport business and has taken on contracts with both We Buy Any Car and British Car Auctions. He wants to also go deeper into the recovery side and has just started to think about the remodelling of the business, for example offering off-road recovery with the purchase of a Land Rover and Jeep. After some required qualifications, they are also hoping to gain contracts with the Police and AA.
“Hopefully by March 2022, we will be on their systems and will need more parking for more vehicles!”
