The Aldershot Enterprise Centre is excited to be nominating The Ripple Pond military charity for the 2019 Soldiering On Awards.

Although this charity operates nationally, their office lies locally here in the Rushmoor area. In this garrison town and as one of our tenants, The Ripple Pond, is an active member of the community. They focus on providing a support network for adult family members of Personnel, Veterans or Reservists with physical or emotional, military attributed injuries. Often the trauma that the injured loved one experiences also falls hard on those who find themselves in the role of their ‘carer’, be they partner or parent.

Set up by two mothers of seriously wounded servicemen who recognised that no similar service existed purely for adult family members, they found strength and comfort by sharing and supporting each other through such a unique challenge. What sets this organisation apart is that they empower members to seek support when they need it most, in a safe space.

“Whether your loved one is currently serving full time, as a Reservist, a Veteran, or whether they have been officially diagnosed or not we will show you a warm welcome and support you through your challenges.”

We nominate The Ripple Pond under the ‘Family Values’ category because we recognise their dedication to this unsung group of family members.

We would also like to ask your support in nominating The Ripple Pond for the 2019 Soldiering On Awards in this category. It’s a very simple process and with your vote, if successful, will bring a worthy winner to the stage.
