What a great afternoon, spent in the company of Aldershot Enterprise Centre + the local community!
We had our stand and flag flying, in the gorgeous blue sky, with leaflets on EU Citizen Rights, Erasmus+ and some General Info on the EU.
Joining us were the wonderful Inspiring Enterprise team, a fully funded project by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund. They offer services and resources to help graduates and people move from out of work and into a better future for themselves or those around them. Some of the project participants had their businesses on show, to engage with the local community and help generate interest in their products and services.
Ersamus+ seemed to be of most interest to people approaching us, with plenty of chats + flyers handed out. Most people seemed to think this had now ended, due to Brexit. It was quite refreshing to be able to provide honest information on the some of the benefits being in the EU provides, one of them being the membership to Erasmus+. We were able to provide leaflets + talk through the UK Government agreement, that the United Kingdom is committed to continuing full participation in the Erasmus+ programme up until we leave the European Union. It will underwrite successful bids for Erasmus+ that are submitted while the UK is still a Member State, even if they are not approved until after we leave, and/or payments continue beyond the point of exit.
It was also a great opportunity to distribute some of our newly created marketing collateral, including Aldershot EDIC USB drives with EU info included, Aldershot EDIC Posters + Aldershot EDIC Notebooks.
Our next stop will be at Aldershot Library, where we will be looking to get our posters up and provide some relevant information on the Package Travel Directive which came into force 1st July 2018, along with promoting our services for providing information on EU Citizen Rights in the UK now and post-Brexit.
Hope to see you at our next event!
